Hamza Jananallah: Morocco left-back returns to Wydad AC on free transfer
Morocco defender Hamza Jananallah has joined Wydad AC from Olympique Dcheira on a free transfer, returning to the Casablanca club where he began his development.
The 25-year-old left-back has signed a contract running until 30 June 2029. Jananallah, who is left-footed, returns to Wydad after 18 months with Olympique Dcheira, having initially joined the club from US Temara in January 2025.
Jananallah made 32 recorded appearances for Olympique Dcheira across the Botola Pro Inwi, Excellence Cup and Botola Pro 1 Relegation competitions. He played 24 league matches, added five appearances in the Excellence Cup and made three appearances in the relegation competition, registering one assist in the Excellence Cup.
His spell with Olympique Dcheira also brought a Moroccan League Cup winner’s medal in the 2024-25 season. The move back to Wydad gives the defender the opportunity to continue his career at the club where he previously progressed through the youth and reserve structure.
Jananallah joined Wydad’s youth ranks in 2019 before moving to the club’s under-19 side later that year. He stepped up to WAC Reserve in 2021 and spent part of the 2022-23 season on loan at Fath Casablanca, returning to Wydad’s reserve team when that loan ended.
During his earlier association with Wydad Casablanca, Jananallah was part of squads that won the CAF Champions League and Moroccan league title in the 2021-22 season. He subsequently moved to US Temara in July 2024 before switching to Olympique Dcheira six months later.
The return represents a move from a player who has built recent senior experience outside the club to a familiar setting in Moroccan football. Wydad AC have secured the services of the Casablanca-born defender through the end of June 2029, with Jananallah completing his free transfer on 2 August 2026.
