Hamza Abdelkarim named in Barcelona squad for Racing Santander match

Egypt international Hamza Abdelkarim has been included in the Barcelona squad for Wednesday’s Spanish league meeting with Racing Santander, while the notable omission is young defender Brian Farinas.

Racing Santander travel to Barcelona for the sixth round of the Spanish league. The match comes one day after Abdelkarim extended his contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2030.

The new agreement also raises the release clause in the Egyptian forward’s contract from 15 million euros to 150 euros.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has named Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Anthony Gordon and Gabriel Jesus in his squad for the game. Abdelkarim and Farinas had both been part of the first-team group since the beginning of the season, but Farinas has not been selected for this fixture.

Barcelona have made a perfect start to their league campaign and sit top of the table with 15 points from five consecutive victories.

Racing Santander are 10th with seven points.
