Hamza Abdel Karim proudly focused on Al Ahly future

Hamza Abdel Karim, Al Ahly’s young striker, expressed deep pride in representing the “Club of the Century,” stressing that the recent interest around him is a natural result of playing for a team of Al Ahly’s stature.

He explained that promotion to the first team and his early appearances have given him extra motivation to keep improving and to meet the expectations placed on him.​

“It is normal for an Al Ahly player to attract attention from foreign clubs or national teams, and this gives me great motivation and doubles my responsibility to give my best in the coming period,” he told the club’s website.

“I don’t concern myself with the pressures associated with playing with the first team. My complete focus is on training and improving my level, and my response to criticism and expectations will be through my performance on the field only. It is natural for Al-Ahly players to be the focus of discussion in all media outlets.

“Playing for Al Ahly is a great honor for me, and I strive to do everything I can to gain the trust of the coaching staff. The external interest came after I delivered a distinguished performance, whether with the youth national team in the World Cup, or through my promotion to the first team and participation in the African Champions League, as well as my appearance in the league matches last season.

“Belonging to Al Ahly was a big dream for me, as all my family members are Al Ahly fans and have a history in volleyball, but they left me free to choose the game I love, and I received their full support. My ambitions are great to achieve a distinguished history with the club and to be an extension of my family within Al Ahly.

“Every player within Al Ahly knows the magnitude of the responsibility placed upon him. I was recently promoted to the first team, and it was an indescribable experience when I entered the dressing room at Mokhtar El Tetsh Stadium. It was an important step towards achieving my biggest dream, and I will never forget the day I received this opportunity that gave me a strong push to represent the club and bear the responsibility towards its great fans.

“Being with the first team is like a dream come true. I participate in training with players I used to follow on television, and now they are supporting me to help me develop. By gaining experience from them, I will repay the club and make the fans happy.

“Being in matches gives me great motivation. Before participating, I feel nervous because of the large crowds, but when I enter the field, everything changes completely, and my feeling of support increases, and that’s what happened to me in my first participation.

“It is a great honor for me to be included in the preliminary squad for the national team in the African Cup of Nations. This gives me confidence and additional motivation and makes me ready for any future opportunity. I wish the team success and a great achievement.

“I have great ambitions for the future. I am constantly working on developing myself and training hard to be up to the task of serving the club, and I hope to continue to gain the trust of Al-Ahly fans and always make them happy.”
