Hamed Drame: French-Malian defender returns to Akritas Chloraka on free transfer
French-Malian centre-back Hamed Drame has rejoined Cypriot side Akritas Chloraka on a free transfer from French club St-Co Locmine. The 25-year-old defender has signed a deal running until 31 May 2027 with the Second Division outfit.
Drame heads back to Akritas after a five-year spell of moves around Europe, having first played for the club between 2021 and 2023. During his earlier stint in Cyprus he featured in both the top flight and the Second Division, making more than 50 competitive appearances and scoring twice across league and cup competitions.
The Vitry-sur-Seine-born defender, who stands at 1.93m and is right-footed, returns from France, where he had joined St-Co Locmine in February 2026 after a short period without a club. His latest move continues a career that has taken in spells in Finland, Belgium, Italy and Portugal, as well as youth football in France and Portugal.
Drame’s most substantial run of senior league minutes came with Akritas, where he played regularly in the Cyprus League and its relegation round as well as in the Second Division and domestic cup. That experience in Cypriot football underpins his second spell with the Chloraka-based side as they prepare for the new campaign.
The defender originally moved to Akritas from Ukrainian club Rubikon in 2021, also on a free transfer. His return now sees him commit to Akritas Chloraka until the end of the 2026-27 season.
