Hamdy Fathy starts for Al Wakrah against Al Shamal

Egypt international Hamdy Fathy has been named in the starting line-up for Al Wakrah’s Qatar league match away to Al Shamal.

The fixture is being played in the fourth round of the competition, with Fathy continuing his run of starts for the club.

The midfielder has started all three of Al Wakrah’s matches this season and has not been substituted in any of them.

Al Wakrah have collected one point so far, drawing once and losing twice.

The club announced several weeks ago that Fathy had signed a contract extension running until 2029.

Fathy joined Al Wakrah in 2025 after leaving Al Ahly.
