Hamdi Labidi: Tunisia forward joins ES Zarzis on free transfer from Olympique Akbou

Tunisia striker Hamdi Labidi has joined ES Zarzis on a free transfer from Olympique Akbou, signing a contract with the Ligue 1 side until 30 June 2028.

The 24-year-old centre-forward returns to Tunisian football after a short spell with the Algerian club, becoming Zarzis’ latest attacking recruit ahead of the new campaign. Labidi moves as a free agent, with his market value currently assessed at around €400,000.

Born in Tunis and standing at 1.77m, Labidi is a right-footed central striker who has already amassed significant experience in North African and Middle Eastern football. Before heading to Algeria in January 2026, he played for Al-Shorta Baghdad SC in the Iraq Stars League and domestic cup, following a move from Club Africain in July 2025.

Labidi first broke into senior football with Club Africain in 2020 after progressing from their U19 ranks, featuring regularly in the Tunisian Ligue 1 and cup competitions. Across league, play-off, cup and continental fixtures, he has passed the 140-appearance mark, scoring in double figures and adding several assists, including seven goals in the Tunisian Cup and outings in the CAF Confederation Cup.

His switch to ES Zarzis marks a return to more familiar surroundings, with the club handing him a two-year deal as they reshape their forward line. Labidi is immediately available to link up with his new team as they prepare for the upcoming Ligue 1 season.
