Hamdi Harbaoui, the Tunisian striker from Lokeren, is being recognized for his exceptional performance this season in the Jupiler Pro League. With 16 goals in 25 games and having clinched the Belgian Cup, he has earned a nomination for the prestigious Soulier d’Ebène award, alongside four other standout players in the championship.
Harbaoui faces stiff competition, particularly from Michy Batshuayi and Paul José Mpoku, both of Congolese origin, as well as Nigerian Imoh Ezekiel, who represents Standard Liège.
Additionally, Ghanaian striker Vadis Odjidja is among the contenders for the accolade.
The Soulier d’Ebène honors the best African footballer or those of African descent playing in Belgium. The recipient of this esteemed trophy will be announced on May 5, succeeding last year’s winner, Senegalese player Mbaye Leye.
