Hamburger SV resume contract extension talks with Ghana winger Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer
German Bundesliga side Hamburger SV have resumed contract extension talks with Ghana international Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer.
Talks between HSV and the 24-year-old began earlier this year, but interest from Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice appeared to put an end to discussions after the clubs agreed a €6 million deal.
However, the transfer collapsed when Nice pulled out due to concerns over a previous knee injury detected during medical checks.
Since returning to Hamburg, Königsdörffer has re-established himself as a regular in the side, and the club are keen to tie him down to a new deal. According to Bild, extending his contract is now high on HSV’s priority list for the fall.
Königsdörffer’s current deal runs until the summer of 2026, leaving Hamburg with the risk of losing him on a free transfer if no agreement is reached.
At the same time, the winger faces uncertainty, with his injury history still casting doubts in the transfer market and his wait for a first Bundesliga goal of the season ongoing.
