Congo international Warmed Omari has emerged as a top transfer target for German Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV.
Omari, who is in the books of Stade Rennais spent last season on loan at fellow French Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyon.
The 25-year-old struggled during his loan spell at Lyon, with the defender making just four appearances for the club in all competitions, accumulating just 277 minutes of playing time.
The defender is not part of the project at formative club Rennes ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 campaign. Since joining Rennais in 2021, Omari has made 94 appearances for the club.
Omari is the subject of interest from Hamburg, who were recently promoted back to the Bundesliga. The German outfit are currently in talks with the Ligue 1 side in order to find an agreement for the player’s transfer.
However, Rennes are open to a sale provided the club receive a reasonable offer this summer for the defender. He is under contract until the summer of 2027.
