Hamburg are being linked with a move for Dynamo Dresden defensive midfielder Kofi Amoako, with the Bundesliga club weighing up a deal for the €2.00m‑rated 20‑year‑old.

Data from Transfermarkt on 31 March 2026 lists the probability of a transfer at 46%, with Amoako emerging as a potential option as Hamburg plan ahead for next season. Any move would be a transfer rather than a free‑agent signing, but his unknown contract length at Dresden has fuelled speculation over his longer‑term future and the possibility of him running down his deal.

Amoako, born in Hannover on 6 May 2005 and standing at 1.86m, joined Dynamo Dresden from VfL Wolfsburg on 1 July 2025 after a productive loan spell in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga with VfL Osnabrück. A right‑footed specialist in defensive midfield, he has dual nationality with Germany and Ghana and has progressed through Wolfsburg’s youth ranks, featuring for their U17 and U19 sides before stepping into senior professional football.

His market value has risen sharply over the last two seasons. Valued at €400,000 with Wolfsburg U19 in May 2024, he dipped slightly to €350,000 at Osnabrück later that year before climbing to €750,000 in March 2025 and €900,000 in June 2025. Since moving to Dresden, his valuation has accelerated, reaching €1.5m by October 2025 and then €2.00m by December 2025.

Amoako is currently playing in the 2. Bundesliga with Dynamo Dresden, while Hamburg are operating in the Bundesliga according to the same dataset. No details have been reported on a fee or contract terms, and there is no indication yet that Dresden are prepared to sell.

If a move to Hamburg does materialise, it would mark the next step in Amoako’s rise through German football and could prove decisive in shaping his reputation as a top‑level holding midfielder.
