Hamada El-Qallawy appointed for Pyramids FC v Abu Qir Fertilizers as Walid Nagy prepares for first match

Hamada El-Qallawy will referee Pyramids FC’s Egyptian league meeting with Abu Qir Fertilizers in the second round of the competition.

The match is scheduled to take place at 20:00 on Thursday, 27 August, at Air Defence Stadium.

El-Qallawy will be assisted by Mohamed Ezzazy and Omran Farag, while Jabal El-Sayed Attia has been appointed as the fourth official.

Mohamed El-Shenawy will oversee the video assistant referee system, with Khaled Hussein acting as his assistant.

The fixture will be El-Qallawy’s second match of the season. He was also in charge of El Qanah’s opening-round encounter with Ceramica Cleopatra.

That game featured three yellow cards, while Ceramica Cleopatra were awarded two penalties. Both spot-kicks were saved by goalkeeper Mohamed Shaaban.

The second round will also see Walid Nagy take charge of his first match of the season. He has been selected to referee Modern Sport’s meeting with Ghazl El Mahalla.

In another fixture, Ibrahim Mohamed will officiate the match between Al Mokawloon Al Arab and Al Masry, which will be played at New Suez Stadium at 20:00.

Ibrahim Mohamed previously refereed Wadi Degla’s opening-season game against ZED FC. The match ended in a goalless draw and included four yellow cards.

The appointments mean El-Qallawy and Ibrahim Mohamed will both referee their second matches of the campaign, while Nagy begins his season with the Modern Sport v Ghazl El Mahalla fixture.
