Former Ismaily coach Hamad Ibrahim has revealed that he tried to resign three times before finally stepping away from the club.
Speaking on On Time Sports, Ibrahim explained that he verbally submitted his resignation to Imad Suleiman, the club’s football supervisor, starting from the match against Enppi in the Egyptian Premier League.
“I decided to leave after losing to El Gouna because there was a state of lack of success,” he said. “Maybe it was because of me, the administration, or the players, but I did my best.”
With Ismaily sitting in 16th place, Ibrahim admitted that while the club’s current standing doesn’t reflect its rich history, the squad’s overall quality makes their position fitting. He also expressed hope that Suleiman, now leading the team, will receive the necessary support.
The unresolved registration crisis, he noted, played a major role in the team’s struggles, as some players failed to handle their responsibilities. He added that selling Abdel Rahman Magdy and Omar Al-Sa’i was crucial to stabilizing the club financially.
