Halimo: Wadi Degla sign Egypt midfielder on free transfer from Pharco FC
Egyptian defensive midfielder Halimo has joined Wadi Degla on a free transfer from Pharco FC, signing a deal until 30 June 2028. The 31-year-old, who is right-footed and stands at 1.73m, arrives with significant top-flight experience as Wadi Degla strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The move marks a swift turnaround for Halimo, who only linked up with Pharco in January 2026, also on a free transfer. His current market value is listed at around €100,000, and he now commits to Wadi Degla on a long-term contract running for two seasons.
Halimo has built a solid reputation in the Egyptian Premier League, making 130 league appearances with seven goals and five assists, as well as featuring in relegation play-offs, the Egypt Cup and the Egyptian League Cup. Across all senior competitions, he has played more than 10,000 minutes, underlining his experience as a specialist in the defensive midfield role.
Before his short spell at Pharco, Halimo’s recent career saw him move between Smouha and El Mokawloon on a series of free transfers, having first stepped up from Nogoom FC to Smouha in 2019. His journey through several Premier League clubs has kept him a regular presence in the domestic top flight.
Wadi Degla have now completed the permanent signing of Halimo, adding an experienced Egyptian holding midfielder to their squad on a free transfer from Pharco FC.
