Halid Lwaliwa is set to part ways with FK Bregalnica as his contract nears its conclusion. The Ugandan international defender, whose agreement with the North Macedonian club expires this summer, will be leaving as a free agent.

The decision marks the end of a two-year tenure with FK Bregalnica for Lwaliwa, who joined the club following a successful stint with Vipers SC in Uganda.

Despite the club’s interest in retaining his services, Lwaliwa has opted to seek new challenges elsewhere.

Lwaliwa, who captained his side with distinction, made 31 appearances in the Prva Liga this season, contributing one assist.

His leadership and defensive prowess have been vital for FK Bregalnica, but the 25-year-old now aims to elevate his career by joining a more ambitious and structured club.

With 26 caps and one goal for the Ugandan national team, Lwaliwa has proven himself on the international stage as well.

His impressive performance in North Macedonia has not gone unnoticed, and he is poised to attract interest from various clubs looking to bolster their defense.

The defender’s departure signals his desire for growth and the pursuit of a higher level of competition.

“I have enjoyed my time at FK Bregalnica and am grateful for the opportunities and support provided by the club.

However, I feel it is time to take on new challenges and further my career in a more competitive environment,” Lwaliwa stated.

Lwaliwa’s next destination remains uncertain, but his track record speaks volumes about his capabilities.

He has previously won the Ugandan Premier League four times and the Uganda Cup twice with Vipers SC, establishing himself as one of Uganda’s top defenders.

As Lwaliwa departs, FK Bregalnica will undoubtedly miss his contributions on and off the field. The club will now look to find a suitable replacement who can fill the void left by their departing captain.

Meanwhile, Lwaliwa will focus on his next move, aiming to join a club that matches his ambitions and offers a platform for further growth.

At 25, Lwaliwa still has significant potential and years of football ahead of him.

His departure from FK Bregalnica is not just an end, but a new beginning, as he prepares to embark on the next chapter of his career.

The football world will be watching closely to see where Halid Lwaliwa lands next, with many expecting him to make a significant impact at his new club.

His journey from Uganda to North Macedonia and beyond is a testament to his skill, determination, and desire to succeed at the highest levels of the sport.
