Hakim Ziyech chooses Brazil as Botafogo move nears after Wydad exit

Morocco international Hakim Ziyech is close to joining Brazilian club Botafogo after agreeing to a contract running until December 2028, following his departure from Wydad AC.

The 33-year-old midfielder has accepted Botafogo’s offer after initially being hesitant about moving to Brazil, according to French newspaper L’Equipe. The proposed transfer would give Ziyech the chance to begin a new chapter in South America after a brief and underwhelming spell with Wydad.
