Haka: Egyptian defender joins Tanta SC on free transfer from Abo Qir
Egyptian centre-back Haka has joined Tanta SC on a free transfer from A. Abo Qir, strengthening the clubs defensive options ahead of the new campaign.
The 33-year-old, a right-footed central defender, switches clubs after three seasons with Abo Qir, whom he originally joined in 2023, also as a free transfer from Harras Hodoud. His move to Tanta was completed on 9 July 2026. The terms of his contract have not been disclosed.
Haka brings extensive experience in Egyptian top-flight football, having accumulated 49 Premier League appearances and more than 3,000 minutes of action, scoring once. He has also featured in the Egypt Cup, adding further domestic cup know-how to Tantas back line.
The Alexandria-born defender has spent much of his career in Egyptian football, with spells at Baladiya, Pharco FC, El Raja, Harras Hodoud and youth-level Enppi SC, as well as a loan stint in Jordan with That Ras earlier in his career. That sequence of moves has given him a varied grounding across different clubs and competitions.
His most stable periods came at Baladiya and Harras Hodoud, where he built a reputation as a regular starter in the heart of defence. Those performances paved the way for his later step to Abo Qir and now to Tanta, as he continues to operate at senior level into his mid-thirties.
With the deal completed, Haka is now registered as a Tanta SC player following his free transfer from A. Abo Qir.
