Haissem Hassan: Celtic must beat Celta Vigo to revive Europa League campaign

Haissem Hassan says Celtic must secure their first Europa League victory of the season when they host Celta Vigo in the third round of the league phase.

The Scottish club have lost their opening two matches in the competition and face another difficult test against Celta Vigo.

“The upcoming match against Celta Vigo in the Europa League is very important because we lost our first two games,” Hassan told Celtic’s channel.

“It is therefore extremely important for us to achieve our first win in the Europa League.”

Celta Vigo arrive as the visitors, with Hassan acknowledging the quality of the Spanish side while insisting Celtic have the ability to claim all three points.

“Celta Vigo are a very good team and play excellent football, but I believe Celtic are better,” he said.

“That is why winning this match and making the fans happy is extremely important.”

Celtic began their Europa League campaign with a 3-1 defeat by Ferencvaros before losing 4-1 to Benfica in their second match.

Hassan created Celtic’s only goal in the defeat by Benfica.
