Feyenoord’s Champions League campaign came to an end as they fell to Inter Milan in the round of 16, unable to overturn their first-leg deficit at the San Siro.
Inter Prove Too Strong Despite Feyenoord’s Fightback
After suffering a 2-0 defeat in the first leg, the Dutch side faced an uphill battle in Milan. Their hopes took an early hit when Marcus Thuram opened the scoring for Inter in the eighth minute.
However, Feyenoord responded before half-time, as Jakub Moder converted from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute following a foul by Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
Despite Feyenoord’s determination, their comeback was short-lived. Çalhanoğlu made amends for his earlier mistake by netting a penalty in the second half, restoring Inter’s advantage and securing a 2-1 victory on the night.
Hadj Moussa’s First Champions League Run Ends
Algerian forward Hadj Moussa played the full 90 minutes but struggled to make an impact in the decisive encounter.
His only notable attempt on goal came in the 87th minute, but it was blocked by the Inter defence.
Although Feyenoord’s journey ended in the last 16, Hadj Moussa impressed in his debut Champions League campaign, scoring three goals and gaining valuable experience on Europe’s biggest stage.
