Habib Beye’s future at Marseille faces fresh uncertainty
A surprise departure is already stirring things up at Marseille as Habib Beye’s future remains under heavy scrutiny.
The first change has now come from the medical department, where club doctor Damien Monnot is set to leave his post by mutual agreement.
Monnot arrived at OM in the summer of 2025 from Lille, but his first year in Marseille was a difficult one. He had to deal with a long injury list, with key players such as Geoffrey Kondogbia, Amine Gouiri and Facundo Medina all spending time sidelined.
Beye, meanwhile, appears increasingly unlikely to stay on the bench after failing to secure Champions League qualification and suffering a painful Coupe de France exit. Even a place in the Europa League may not be enough to save him, and his staff are also expected to be affected by the changes.
For now, Monnot’s exit looks like the first visible sign of a bigger restructuring at OM. More moves are likely to follow as the club prepares for a turbulent summer.
