FC Cartagena has strengthened its midfield with the loan signing of Guinean international Pepín Machín from Italian Serie A side AC Monza.
The 27-year-old will remain with the Spanish second-division club until the end of the season.
Machín, who has struggled for game time this season, departs Monza in search of more opportunities in Spain’s Liga 2.
Cartagena confirmed his arrival in an official statement: “FC Cartagena SAD reports that today José ‘Pepín’ Machín has reached an agreement to join the Albinegro team until the end of the season, on loan from Monza of the Italian Serie A.”
The move is seen as a significant boost for Cartagena as they aim to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the campaign.
Known for his versatility, Machín is capable of operating in multiple midfield roles, adding tactical flexibility to Guillermo Fernández’s side.
With experience in Italian football at clubs such as Parma, Brescia, and Pescara, as well as playing a key role in Monza’s promotion to Serie A, Machín brings valuable expertise to Cartagena.
His arrival is expected to enhance the team’s quality and fluidity in midfield as they push for a strong finish to the season.
