Guinean forward François Kamano is set to make his return for Damac in their Saudi Pro League clash against Al-Qadsiah after recovering from injury.
The 28-year-old had been sidelined since sustaining a muscle issue during his side’s 2-0 defeat to Al-Shabab on 28 February.
Kamano Back in Action
Kamano, who has been one of Damac’s standout performers this season, was forced off in the 41st minute of the match against Al-Shabab due to discomfort.
His absence was felt in the subsequent fixture against Al-Taawon, which Damac lost 3-0. However, the Guinea international—who boasts 51 caps and eight goals for his country—has now been declared fit and is expected to feature in Friday’s crucial encounter against third-placed Al-Qadsiah.
With four goals and two assists in 24 appearances across all competitions this season, Kamano remains an important figure for Damac.
His return will be a significant boost for head coach Nuno Almeida as the team looks to turn their fortunes around.
Damac in Desperate Need of a Win
Damac currently sit 13th in the Saudi Pro League standings with 24 points, just six points clear of the relegation zone.
The club has struggled in recent weeks, failing to win any of their last seven matches, including four consecutive defeats.
A positive result against Al-Qadsiah is essential to halt their slide and regain momentum in the fight for survival.
Kamano’s experience will be key in Damac’s efforts to end their poor run. The former Bordeaux and Lokomotiv Moscow winger joined the club last summer after a season with Abha, where he managed two goals and two assists in 34 matches but was unable to prevent the team’s relegation.
With a crucial fixture ahead, Damac will be hoping Kamano’s return can inspire them to a much-needed victory.
