Guinea’s Alkhaly Momo Cissé on Bastia’s radar amid growing European interest

Alkhaly Momo Cisse 1 Min

Alkhaly Momo Cissé is drawing strong interest from Sporting Club de Bastia as the Guinean forward looks to reignite his career with a fresh start next season.

The 22-year-old winger, who has remained largely under the radar in recent months, is now back in the spotlight with several clubs in Europe exploring a potential move.

Among them, Bastia has emerged as one of the most committed suitors, actively engaging in discussions with the player’s camp in an effort to bring him to Corsica.

Bastia officials recently met with Cissé and his representatives in France, signalling a serious intent to sign the promising attacker.

The Ligue 2 outfit sees the young Guinean as a valuable addition who still holds significant untapped potential, despite a relatively quiet spell in his career.

Cissé, a Guinean international and son of former U23 national team coach Morlaye Cissé, is expected to make a decision on his next move in the coming weeks.

With his contract status allowing flexibility, his next club could provide the crucial platform he needs to bounce back and fulfill the promise that once made him one of Guinea’s brightest youth prospects.

While Bastia is currently in pole position, they are not alone in the chase. Turkish side Istanbulspor has also thrown its hat into the ring.

As reported by Africasoccer, the Süper Lig club has been monitoring Cissé since last season and is preparing to offer him a contract lasting 18 months.

Talks are said to be ongoing over financial terms, but Istanbulspor’s sixth-place standing in the league could be a persuasive factor in their favour.

Despite the growing attention, Cissé and his entourage are proceeding with caution, weighing all available options.

The forward is said to be focused on finding a club that offers not just playing time, but also a supportive environment conducive to his development and long-term progression.

Cissé’s potential move would mark a pivotal moment in a career that has yet to fully take flight. Known for his pace and technical ability, the winger has struggled to maintain consistent form in recent seasons.

However, those who have worked closely with him believe his talent remains intact and that, under the right guidance, he could rediscover his sharpness and confidence.

Bastia’s interest could be mutually beneficial. The Corsican club, known for its strong community ties and competitive spirit, may offer Cissé a stable environment to rebuild.

With the team seeking to strengthen its attacking options, adding a player with international experience and youthful hunger fits within their strategic direction.

As negotiations continue, all eyes will be on where Cissé chooses to pen his next chapter. Whether it’s the promise of revival in France or the challenge of Turkish football, the coming transfer window could prove decisive for the young Guinean’s career path.
