Belgium-born attacker of Guinean descent, Malick Fofana has urged his Olympique Lyon teammates to turn attention away from the defeat to Manchester United on Thursday night.
After the 5-4 defeat, Lyon crashed out of the Europa League with a 7-6 aggregate loss to the English opponent.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Malick Fofana urged his teammates that although they disappointed after the painful Europa League exit, they should turn their attention to the derby against Saint-Etienne in the French Ligue 1.
“We have to be more demanding at the end, there are 15 minutes left, we have to be compact. I think it’s a match that I won’t forget… We’re going to rest and concentrate on the derby.”
The derby between Saint-Etienne and Olympique Lyon in the French Ligue 1 will be played on Sunday, April 20.
The match will kick off at 6:45 pm on the matchday.
Lyon, current fourth in the league standings will need to fight for all points to climb higher on the log.
