Guinean international Morlaye Sylla is attracting growing interest across Europe as his contract with Portuguese club Arouca nears its conclusion at the end of June 2025.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who will be available on a free transfer, has emerged as a target for multiple clubs across different leagues.

French side Paris FC is among those to have expressed early interest, reportedly initiating contact regarding a potential move without a transfer fee.

German outfits Sankt Pauli and Freiburg have also been linked with Sylla, drawn by his versatility and solid track record in the Portuguese top flight.

Sylla’s departure from Arouca is widely expected following four seasons at the club, during which he made 114 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 9 assists.

His performances in the Primeira Liga, combined with regular call-ups for Guinea’s national team, have raised his profile among clubs looking for experience and creativity in midfield.

Sankt Pauli’s interest is understood to be particularly strong, with the presence of fellow Guinean international Morgan Guilavogui at the club seen as a possible factor in easing Sylla’s adaptation, should a move materialise.

Talks are believed to be ongoing, as the German side considers strengthening its midfield options ahead of the new campaign.

Sylla’s appeal lies in his ability to operate across multiple midfield roles. Whether deployed as a deep-lying playmaker, box-to-box engine or advanced creator, his tactical awareness and composure on the ball have stood out in the Portuguese league.

He has also earned praise for his consistent work rate and leadership on the pitch, attributes that could prove valuable for clubs competing in physically demanding competitions.

Interest in the Guinean extends beyond France and Germany. Several Turkish clubs have also shown a willingness to open negotiations, with Sylla’s experience and availability making him a cost-effective option in a competitive summer transfer market.

His strong performances for the national team have only reinforced his value, with many clubs now viewing him as a low-risk, high-reward acquisition.

Sylla’s departure from Arouca will mark the end of a significant chapter in his career. Since joining the Portuguese side, he has grown into a key figure in the team, contributing not only with goals and assists but also as a stabilising presence in midfield.

His development has mirrored Arouca’s rise in the Portuguese league, and his departure will undoubtedly leave a gap to fill.

As the summer window approaches, Sylla’s future remains uncertain, but interest is expected to intensify in the coming weeks.

With the advantage of free agency, he is in a strong position to negotiate favourable terms and choose a club that aligns with both his ambitions and playing style.

Wherever he lands, Morlaye Sylla will bring with him experience, professionalism and the proven ability to compete at a high level — qualities that have not gone unnoticed across Europe’s footballing landscape.
