Guinean forward Algassime Bah targeted by Aris Limassol amid summer transfer speculation

Guinean striker Algassime Bah is attracting strong interest from Aris Limassol as the Cypriot club explores options to bolster its attacking line ahead of the new season.

The 21-year-old forward has struggled to find form since joining Apoel Nicosia from Olympiacos, managing just one goal in 14 appearances this season.

Once seen as a rising talent in African football, Bah now appears poised for a fresh start, with Aris Limassol emerging as a serious contender for his signature during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to reports from Africasoccer, the Syli National striker is being courted by Limassol, who have already made an approach for the player.

The club is believed to have tabled a two-year contract offer, with the possibility of extending it for a third year. For Bah, the opportunity represents a potential turning point after a difficult period at Nicosia.

Despite his limited impact on the pitch, Aris Limassol are confident that Bah possesses the attributes needed to contribute to their ambitions.

Currently sitting second in the Cypriot league, the club sees the Guinean international as a long-term project who could thrive with the right support.

Bah, who began his professional career with Renaissance FC, remains under contract with Apoel Nicosia until 2027.

Limassol’s interest has already materialised in a formal bid. The club submitted an initial offer of $400,000 (€352,160) to Apoel, but the bid was swiftly rejected.

Sources close to the negotiations indicate that Nicosia are holding out for a fee closer to $600,000 (€528,195) before agreeing to release the player.

It remains unclear whether Limassol will return with an improved offer, but talks are expected to continue over the coming weeks.

Club officials believe that Bah’s underwhelming season does not reflect his true potential, and they are prepared to invest in a player they see as capable of revival under the right conditions.

Bah’s representatives, meanwhile, are said to be open to a move, recognising that a change of environment could benefit their client’s development and help him regain momentum in his career.

A move to Aris would also keep the striker in the Cypriot league, potentially easing his transition while offering a clean slate.

Despite interest from other clubs, Aris Limassol appear to be leading the race for Bah’s signature.

The pursuit is driven by the club’s determination to reinforce its squad ahead of the next campaign, with European ambitions and domestic success firmly in sight.

As negotiations between the two sides continue, all eyes remain on the outcome of the transfer discussions.

For Algassime Bah, the summer window could offer the lifeline he needs to relaunch a promising career that has yet to reach its full potential.
