Ilaix Moriba returns as Guinea name squad for Togo and Benin friendlies

Ilaix Moriba has been recalled to the Guinea national football team squad for upcoming international friendlies against Togo national football team and Benin national football team later this month.

Guinea will face Togo on 27 March in Rabat before taking on Benin four days later in Casablanca during the next FIFA international window.

Head coach Paulo Duarte has selected a 25-man squad for the two matches, with Moriba’s return among the most notable inclusions in the group.

The midfielder, who plays for RC Celta de Vigo, is back in the national setup as Guinea prepare for the friendly fixtures scheduled to take place in Morocco.

Duarte’s squad features three goalkeepers, including Soumaïla Sylla of Stade de Reims, Ousmane Camara from Loubha FC and Mohamed Camara, who represents Ashanti Kotoko SC.

The defensive options include Mohamed Soumah of IK Sirius, Sékou Sylla from De Graafschap and Ibrahima Brèze Fofana of Hammarby IF.

Also included at the back are Issiaga Sylla of Asteras Tripolis FC, Mory Konté from KV Mechelen, Ibrahim Diakité of Cercle Brugge, Saïdou Sow from Clermont Foot and Mansour Camara of Al-Kholood Club.

In midfield, Duarte has called up Jocelyn Janneh of SC Bastia, Mohamed Kaba from FC Nantes and Sékou Bangoura of Columbus Crew.

They are joined by Morlaye Sylla of Damac FC and Seydouba Cissé, who plays for CD Leganés, alongside Moriba.

The forward line includes Serhou Guirassy of Borussia Dortmund, Yadaly Diaby from Grenoble Foot 38 and Aliou Badara Baldé of FC St. Gallen.

Also included in the attacking options are Mohamed Touré of FC Viktoria Plzeň, Abdoulaye Camara from Vejle Boldklub, Lamine Diaby Fadiga of Raków Częstochowa, Ousmane Camara from GZ Power FC and Yacouba Gnagna Barry of Horoya AC.

The two matches will give Duarte an opportunity to assess his squad as Guinea continue preparations during the international break.
