Horoya Appoint Lamine N’Diaye as New Head Coach
Horoya AC moved swiftly following the dismissal of Didier Gomes da Rosa, announcing just 48 hours later that Lamine N’Diaye would take over as the club’s new head coach. The appointment confirms the rumors that had been circulating since the French manager’s departure.
N’Diaye, 63, is a seasoned coach with a strong reputation across African football. The Senegalese manager is best known for his highly successful tenure at TP Mazembe in the Democratic Republic of Congo from 2010 to 2013. During his time at the Congolese powerhouse, N’Diaye achieved numerous domestic and continental titles and even guided the club to the 2010 Club World Cup final, cementing his status as one of Africa’s most respected coaches.
In addition to his work in the DRC, N’Diaye also managed Al Hilal Omdurman in Sudan, showcasing his ability to adapt and succeed in different footballing environments across the continent. His appointment at Horoya makes him the third coach in just six months for the Guinean club, following Victor Zvunka, Patrice Neveu, and Didier Gomes da Rosa—a sign of the club’s determination to find stability and success.
The Senegalese tactician has signed a three-year contract with Horoya, signaling the club’s confidence in his long-term vision. His immediate task will be to prepare the team for their campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup, with group stage opponents set to be revealed this Tuesday.
With N’Diaye at the helm, Horoya AC hopes to restore consistency and compete at the highest level both domestically and continentally.
