Guinea name squad for South Africa and Kenya Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
Guinea head coach Paulo Duarte has selected his squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Kenya, with Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy the most prominent name included.
Guinea will travel to face South Africa at Orlando Amstel Arena on 26 September before hosting Kenya on 1 October.
Duarte’s team approach the two fixtures without a win in their past four matches. They drew against Niger and Togo, then suffered consecutive 1-0 defeats by Benin and Northern Ireland.
The squad is dominated by players based outside Guinea, with Guirassy leading the selection. The 30-year-old has made an impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign, scoring four goals and providing two assists in six games for Borussia Dortmund.
Guirassy has also scored 11 goals in 28 appearances for Guinea.
