Major boost for Guinea as Lamine Diaby-Fadiga secures FIFA approval
Lamine Diaby-Fadiga has received approval from FIFA to represent Guinea national football team after his change of sporting nationality was officially validated on Friday, 6 March 2026.
The decision means the striker is now eligible to play for Guinea at international level, a development that is expected to strengthen the options available to the national team’s coaching staff.
Currently playing for Raków Częstochowa in Poland, Diaby-Fadiga had been awaiting confirmation from FIFA before he could make his first appearance for the Syli National.
The approval brings an end to months of uncertainty surrounding his international future.
The 25-year-old forward had already attracted the attention of Guinea’s head coach, Paulo Duarte, who included him in the national team plans several months ago.
Despite the call-up, administrative complications prevented the striker from making his debut.
Those issues have now been resolved following FIFA’s decision, clearing the path for the former OGC Nice and Paris FC player to represent the West African nation.
Diaby-Fadiga began his professional career in France before continuing his development across European football.
His move to Raków Częstochowa has allowed him to maintain his presence in competitive club football while awaiting international clearance.
For Guinea, the approval offers a timely boost as the national team continues to strengthen its squad for upcoming competitions.
The Syli National coaching staff had already expressed interest in integrating the striker into their attacking options.
With FIFA’s confirmation now secured, Diaby-Fadiga is free to take the next step in his international career and potentially make his long-awaited debut for Guinea.
The decision closes a prolonged administrative process and provides the striker with the opportunity to represent the country at senior international level for the first time.
