PASCAL FEINDOUNO TEASES A RETURN TO SYLI NATIONAL?
With Luis Fernandez officially announced as Guinea’s new national team coach, former Syli National star Pascal Feindouno couldn’t help but chime in—half-seriously, half-jokingly—about the possibility of playing again.
“There’s a way to do something. We have some good young players,” Feindouno said, expressing confidence in Guinea’s new generation. “We really miss coaching the young ones. Especially that. Otherwise, we have some very good players. I like all the players, they’re my young ones.”
And then came the punchline—classic Feindouno:
“Playing? With pleasure. When I have a club. He’ll have time to watch the matches. To be in the national team, you have to play. I did it once in 2012. I didn’t have a club and I played in the Africa Cup of Nations.”
At 34 (as of 2015), Feindouno clearly knows his best playing years are behind him, but his passion for the national team and the younger generation is still strong. Whether he returns as a player, a mentor, or even a coach someday, his legacy in Guinean football remains untouchable.
