Burkina Faso continues to shine in cycling! On Sunday, Diallo Sadou claimed victory in the 9th Tour of Guinea after the competition’s final stage, held in the Guinean capital, Conakry. The stage itself was dominated by Nikiema Bachirou, who notched his fourth win out of five stages, while Diallo Sadou had previously won the third stage.
The overall standings highlighted Burkina Faso’s dominance, with the top four positions occupied by Diallo Sadou, Bachirou Nikiema, Koné Souleymane, and team captain Nikiema Abdoul Aziz. Their collective performance showcased the depth of talent in the Burkinabé cycling squad.
Special jerseys also went to Burkinabé cyclists: Bachirou Nikiema took the intermediate sprints jersey, while Nikiema Abdoul Aziz secured the mountains jersey. The national team’s consistency and teamwork were evident, as they finished first among the eight participating teams.
This remarkable performance underscores Burkina Faso’s growing strength in African cycling, combining individual brilliance with a strong team strategy to dominate the Tour of Guinea.
