Spanish international of Guinea-Bissau descent Ansu Fati is set for Barcelona departure heading into the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old attacker was limited to only six appearances at Barcelona in the La Liga this season due to persistent injury setbacks.
However, in search of regular playing time, the youngster has agreed to depart the club this summer, with Monaco emerging as the frontrunners.
According to reports, the parties involved are close to reaching an agreement for the transfer of the forward this summer. The Spanish attacker will leave Catalonia on loan for the 2025-26 season with a buy option included.
Barcelona will retain a percentage of any future sale should that option be exercised.
While the deal is unlikely to bring a significant sum to the Catalans, it’s crucial for the club to offload Fati’s salary commitments. His departure will also open the door to signing a new left winger—a top priority for sporting director Deco.
