Boateng Going Nowhere, Says Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich have firmly dismissed speculation linking Jérôme Boateng with a move to FC Barcelona.
Following earlier comments from CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, head coach Pep Guardiola has also underlined the German champions’ intention to keep hold of the World Cup-winning defender.
According to Marca, Guardiola views the 25-year-old as a key member of his squad after making 43 appearances and scoring once last season. The Bayern boss is reportedly unwilling to consider any offers for Boateng, who was instrumental in Germany’s World Cup triumph in Brazil.
The Ghanaian-origin centre-back had been linked with a summer switch to the Camp Nou, but with Bayern closing the door, a transfer to Barcelona now looks firmly off the table.
