Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Granit Xhaka has urged Nigerian fans to remain patient with striker Victor Boniface as the player continues his journey with the Super Eagles.
Boniface, who has yet to score in 11 international appearances, has faced mounting expectations.
Speaking to Oma Sports TV, Xhaka emphasized the challenges of adapting to national team football.
“It’s always difficult with the national team because you don’t have much time to work on tactics or develop understanding with players and the coach.
Stay calm; he’s a great guy and footballer.
Despite his current injury, Boniface is expected to return for Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
Xhaka expressed confidence in the striker’s ability to contribute significantly to the team’s success and bring joy to fans in the future.
