Granada CF has entered negotiations with Real Betis for the signing of Souleymane Faye, the talented Senegalese forward currently playing for Betis Deportivo in Spain’s third division.
The move could mark a return to familiar territory for the 21-year-old, who previously featured in Granada’s youth setup before departing for Talavera in 2022.
Faye has drawn significant attention with his performances this season, registering eight goals and two assists in 19 appearances.
Granada, currently competing in the Spanish second division, is keen to offer him his first professional contract.
Reports suggest the Andalusian club has proposed a loan deal with a €2 million purchase option to bring Faye back into their ranks.
However, Real Betis remains firm in its preference for a permanent transfer rather than a loan agreement.
The Sevillian side values Faye as a rising star, especially given his current contract, which runs until 2028.
The forward, known for his speed, technical ability, and efficiency, has also piqued the interest of other clubs, including Swedish outfit AIK.
Granada’s pursuit of Faye underscores their intent to strengthen their squad and secure promotion back to La Liga.
Whether they can convince Betis to part with one of their promising young talents remains to be seen.
