Gor Mahia midfielder Enoch Morrison has revealed details of conversations he had with Al Ahly players and coaches after his impressive displays against the reigning CAF Champions League champions. Despite Gor Mahia suffering two heavy defeats in their preliminary round fixtures, Morrison’s standout performances have drawn attention from the Egyptian giants.

Following the first leg at Nairobi’s Nyayo National Stadium, several Al Ahly players and coaches were seen engaging with Morrison, and this interaction continued in the return leg at Cairo International Stadium.

Gor Mahia lost both matches 3-0, which led to their exit from the tournament, but Morrison’s individual brilliance left a lasting impression.

In an exclusive interview with SportsBoom, Morrison disclosed that Al Ahly players and staff sought his contact details after the first leg in Nairobi, hinting at a possible interest in securing his services.

The Ghanaian midfielder shared that he was taken aback by the praise he received from his opponents, who complimented his technical abilities and composure on the ball.

“They told me I am a good player and were happy with how I played both matches,” Morrison said. “They also asked for my contacts and my agency.

Their inquiries didn’t shock me as football is about friendship and business.”

Some of the Al Ahly coaches even suggested introducing Morrison to a new player agency, adding further fuel to the speculation about his potential future at the club.

Despite the interest from Africa’s most successful football club, Morrison made it clear to the Al Ahly representatives that he is fully committed to Gor Mahia.

Having only joined the Kenyan side in August from Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, the midfielder stressed that any future moves would have to go through his current club.

“I informed Ahly officials that I am contracted with Gor Mahia.

If they are serious about more than just football friendship, they know the proper channels to follow.

Gor Mahia would have the final say,” Morrison said.

Now that Gor Mahia has been eliminated from the CAF Champions League, Morrison is setting his sights on domestic competitions.

The 24-year-old midfielder is determined to make a lasting impact at the club, both in the league and in cup competitions.

Gor Mahia, who are preparing to defend their league title, will face Mathare United in their opening fixture next Saturday.

“I want to be remembered as a modern-day Gor legend.

I am determined to win titles at this great club that has an amazing fan base.

The start has been good, and I am looking forward to the league action,” said Morrison, reflecting on his future at the club.

Morrison, who initially faced skepticism when he joined Gor Mahia, has quickly won over fans with his strong performances against Al Ahly and South Sudan’s El Merreikh Bentiu.

Now, with domestic competitions in focus, he is eager to help Gor Mahia secure more silverware and restore their dominance in Kenyan football.

Under the guidance of coach Johnathan McKinstry, Gor Mahia has enjoyed back-to-back league triumphs in the past two seasons.

With Morrison now part of the squad, the club is aiming to secure a third consecutive title and return to the CAF Champions League next year.

In addition, Gor Mahia will be competing in the Mozzart Bet Cup, offering yet another chance for Morrison to showcase his talents and contribute to the club’s success.

As Morrison continues to impress both at home and abroad, his future may hold further intrigue, but for now, his focus remains on helping Gor Mahia achieve their ambitious goals.
