Gor Mahia wins Kenyan Premier League title

Gor Mahia have officially been crowned champions of the 2025/2026 FKF Premier League, sealing a historic title win despite a final-day 1-0 defeat to Nairobi United.

The Kenyan giants confirmed their dominance over the season by finishing top of the table with 69 points from 34 matches, securing their 22nd league title in the club’s illustrious history.

Their closest challengers, AFC Leopards, finished second on 64 points, while Kenya Police FC completed the top three with 55 points after a competitive campaign.

Although Gor Mahia ended the season with a defeat on the final day, their consistency across the campaign ensured they held off late pressure from their rivals to retain their position at the summit.

The title victory further strengthens Gor Mahia’s status as one of the most successful clubs in Kenyan football, extending their record championship tally to 22 league crowns.

As champions, the club will receive KSh15 million (approximately $116,000) in prize money, providing a financial boost ahead of their continental campaign.

The victory also secures Gor Mahia a place in the 2026 CAF Champions League, where they will once again represent Kenya on the African stage against some of the continent’s elite clubs.

Attention will now shift to squad planning and reinforcement as the club prepares for the demands of continental football, where they will be expected to carry Kenya’s hopes and compete strongly in the tournament.

Despite the final-day setback, the celebrations will continue for Gor Mahia, whose consistent performances throughout the season have delivered yet another memorable league triumph.
