Goodman Mosele: South Africa midfielder returns to Chippa United from Orlando Pirates

South Africa midfielder Goodman Mosele has rejoined Chippa United from Orlando Pirates, bringing an end to his latest spell with the Soweto club. The 26-year-old central midfielder switches back to the Gqeberha side in a completed move within the Betway Premiership.

Mosele, who prefers to operate in central midfield, has become a familiar figure at both clubs in recent seasons, moving repeatedly between Pirates and Chippa. He first left Baroka FC for Orlando Pirates in 2021, before embarking on a series of loans to Chippa United across the 2023-24 and 2025-26 campaigns. His latest transfer marks his third stint with the Chilli Boys.

The Stilfontein-born player arrives at Chippa with significant top-flight experience. He has made 168 Betway Premiership appearances, supplemented by outings in domestic cup competitions and on the continental stage. Mosele has featured in the Nedbank Cup, MTN8 and Carling Knockout, as well as in both the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League.

Mosele has also collected silverware during his career. He lifted the South African cup with Baroka FC in 2018-19, before winning both the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup with Orlando Pirates in the 2022-23 season. His return to Chippa United gives the Eastern Cape club a midfielder with proven experience of domestic and continental competition.

The right-footed midfielder, who stands at 1.76m, joins Chippa United after his contract with Orlando Pirates concluded, and will now continue his Betway Premiership career in Gqeberha.
