Yaya Touré is once again having an outstanding season with Manchester City in the English Premier League. Just two days before the end of the season, the Ivorian midfielder is still in contention for the league title.
With an impressive tally of 19 goals in the Premier League this season, Touré has been a crucial asset for his club. His remarkable performances have earned him several personal accolades. In addition to being the reigning Triple Best African Player and BBC Player of the Year, Touré recently received the “2013 Golden Lion” award for the Best African Player of the Year. The award, presented by the Moroccan Press Group Mountakhab, recognized Touré’s exceptional contributions.
Touré was among ten nominees for the award, including other notable African footballers such as Didier Drogba, John Obi Mikel, and Victor Moses. He received the trophy during a ceremony at the Africa 24 studios, where he appeared on the program “Africa 24 Football Club.”
In a tweet, Touré expressed his gratitude for receiving the award and thanked everyone for their support.
