The matchups for the final four of the 2013 Gold Cup have been determined following the quarter-final matches on Sunday.
In a dominating performance, the United States defeated El Salvador 5-1, securing their place in the semi-finals. American scorers included Goodson (15th and 21st minutes), Corona (29th minute), E Johnson (60th minute), Donovan (78th minute), and Diskerud in the 83rd minute. El Salvador managed a goal courtesy of Zelaya in the 39th minute.
Meanwhile, in the clash between Honduras and Costa Rica at M&T Bank Stadium, a goal from Najar in the 49th minute secured Honduras’s qualification for the semi-finals.
The semi-final matchups, scheduled for July 24, will feature the USA facing El Salvador, and defending champions Mexico, who narrowly defeated Trinidad and Tobago 1-0, will take on Panama, who emerged victorious against Cuba with a scoreline of 6-1. The stage is set for an exciting showdown in the quest for the 2013 Gold Cup title.
