Goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi to miss Zamalek clash with Al-Ittihad Alexandria due to cards accumalation

Zamalek Club will be without goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi for their upcoming Premier League clash against Al-Ittihad Alexandria, the club’s administrative manager has confirmed.

Sobhi is set to miss the match due to suspension, following the accumulation of yellow cards. The suspension comes after Sobhi received his third yellow card in the league during Zamalek’s recent victory over Pyramids, rendering him ineligible for the next fixture.

The absence of Sobhi represents a significant challenge for Zamalek’s defensive lineup, as the 31-year-old has been a key figure in goal this season, contributing to several clean sheets and crucial saves that have helped the team maintain its position in the league standings.

His experience and leadership from the back have been widely praised by both teammates and coaching staff, making his suspension a notable setback ahead of a vital league encounter.

Following the Pyramids match, first-team coach Moataz Gamal allowed the squad a day off on Monday to recover from the intensity of the previous game. This pause was aimed at helping players rest and rejuvenate before resuming preparations for their next challenge.

Training is set to resume on Tuesday at the Military Academy Stadium, where Gamal and his technical team will focus on tactical adjustments and strategies to compensate for Sobhi’s absence while maintaining the team’s momentum in the league.

Zamalek’s clash with Al-Ittihad Alexandria, scheduled for next Friday in the twenty-first round of the Premier League, is expected to be fiercely contested.

With Sobhi unavailable, the team will likely rely on backup goalkeeping options, while the coaching staff may also make strategic defensive adjustments to ensure stability at the back. The match carries significant implications for Zamalek as they aim to continue their push for a strong league finish and remain in contention for top positions.
