Goalkeeper Dumisani Msibi leaves Chippa United after losing number one spot to Stanley Nwabali

Golden Arrows have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Dumisani Msibi following his departure from Chippa United, where he lost his place as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper following the return of Nigerian international Stanley Nwabali.

Msibi held the fort for the Chilli Boys during Nwabali’s absence from the Eastern Cape-based outfit last season. The goalkeeper stepped in and became a key figure for Chippa United, enjoying regular first-team football and establishing himself as a reliable presence between the posts

However, Nwabali’s return to the club changed the goalkeeping situation, with the Nigerian international reclaiming the number one position.

The Super Eagles shot-stopper was restored as Chippa United’s preferred goalkeeper, forcing Msibi to settle for a place on the substitutes’ bench after previously enjoying a run in the starting line-up.

With his opportunities for regular game time becoming limited, Msibi has now secured a move away from the Eastern Cape-based club.

Golden Arrows confirmed the signing of the promising goalkeeper on Tuesday, handing him a fresh opportunity to continue his career in the South African top flight.
