Kenya goalkeeper Byrne Odhiambo has eulogized goalkeepers coach Arnold Origi for his remarkable performance in transforming the goalkeeping department.
Origi returns as the goalkeepers’ trainer for the Harambee Stars following the dismissal of coach Engin Firat over failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to take place in Morocco.
As Kenya prepare to participate in the Mapinduzi Cup, set to take place in January in Zanzibar, Byrne Odhiambo did not hesitate to highlight the crucial role played by his goalkeeping coach and the excellent work he has done with the team.
“He has helped us a lot. He emphasizes the importance of being comfortable with the ball at our feet, as it’s a key characteristic of modern goalkeeping. He insists on it, and we are making good progress under his guidance.”
Furthermore, Kenya will also compete in the CHAN 2025 tournament, which presents significant challenges for Arnold Origi.
The goalkeeping coach still has much to prove with the Harambee Stars, especially in the upcoming competitions where expectations for success are high.
