Glody Lilepo: DR Congo Winger at Kaizer Chiefs Linked with Wydad AC Move

Glody Lilepo, the DR Congo right winger currently at Kaizer Chiefs, has been linked with a move to Moroccan giants Wydad AC in the Botola Pro Inwi. The 28-year-old, who plays his club football in South Africa’s Betway Premiership, has emerged as a target as Wydad explore attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

Interest in Lilepo comes with the forward under contract at Chiefs until 30 June 2027, meaning any deal would require negotiations over a transfer fee rather than a free move. He is currently valued at around €700,000, a figure that provides an early indication of the level of investment Wydad may need to commit if they choose to formalise their interest.

Lilepo’s role on the right flank for Chiefs has brought him wider attention in African club football, with his performances in South Africa putting him on the radar of clubs outside the country. A move to Casablanca would represent a switch from one of the continent’s most scrutinised leagues to one of its most successful and ambitious clubs.

For Kaizer Chiefs, the speculation arrives at a time when they are looking to build a squad capable of challenging domestically while maintaining competitiveness in continental competition, making the potential loss of an established wide player a significant consideration.

With Lilepo tied to the Soweto club for another season beyond the upcoming campaign, Chiefs remain in a strong contractual position as discussions around his future continue.
