Global clubs congratulate Al Ahly on 12th CAF Champions League triumph
Al Ahly’s recent victory in the CAF Champions League has garnered widespread recognition from prominent football clubs around the world. The Egyptian giants secured their 12th continental title after a goalless draw in the first leg against Tunisia’s Esperance Sportive de Tunis, followed by a decisive 1-0 win at Cairo International Stadium.
Manchester City, the English Premier League champions, were among the first to congratulate Al Ahly. The official Manchester City account on “X” (formerly Twitter) posted a message celebrating Al Ahly’s achievement: “Congratulations to Al Ahly SC on your well-deserved CAF Champions League victory.”
Similarly, Aston Villa also extended their congratulations in a light-hearted manner. The club’s official account humorously tweeted, “Siib ghayrak yaakul ya Ahly,” an Arabic phrase meaning “Let others have a chance, Al Ahly,” acknowledging Al Ahly’s dominance in African football.
