Glen Kamara is on the brink of joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab, with a deal reportedly in place for the Finnish international to make the move on loan from Stade Rennais.
The agreement, as reported by L’Équipe, includes an option for Al-Shabab to make the transfer permanent.
While the final details, particularly surrounding the purchase option, are still being ironed out, the deal is expected to be concluded soon, with Kamara potentially traveling to the Gulf State by the weekend.
Kamara, who joined Rennes just this past summer from Leeds United, has found himself part of a flurry of departures from the French club. Despite being a part of Rennes’ recruitment push, the 29-year-old midfielder now faces an early exit as the club struggles in a challenging season, currently sitting in the relegation playoff spot. With Rennes’ managerial situation also in turmoil, the Finnish international is seeking a fresh start in Saudi Arabia.
