Another Moroccan talent could be heading to Girona

Girona FC is reportedly preparing for a busy summer transfer window as the Spanish club continues to focus on recruiting young, high-potential players to strengthen its squad.

According to recent reports, the Catalan side has identified a new Moroccan target as part of its long-term planning, especially with expectations growing that Azzedine Ounahi could leave at the end of the current season. The midfielder has attracted strong interest from several major European clubs, raising the likelihood of his departure.

French media outlets recently suggested that Ounahi has even caught the attention of Manchester City, with the Premier League champions reportedly considering him among options to strengthen their midfield. Some reports also note that both clubs are linked through shared investment structures, which could potentially influence any future negotiations if approval is given by Pep Guardiola.

Meanwhile, attention has now turned to a possible replacement. Reports from Africa Foot indicate that Girona are monitoring 22-year-old attacking midfielder Bilal Nadir, who is currently attracting growing interest in the market.

FC Girondins de Bordeaux are also said to be interested in the player, whose contract with Olympique Marseille is set to expire in June and is unlikely to be renewed.

Nadir is seen as a strong fit for Girona’s playing philosophy due to his technical ability, movement, and vision in midfield. Club scouts reportedly view him as a player who can be developed further within their system and given more consistent playing time.

At Marseille, his situation has been shaped by limited opportunities this season, with the club itself undergoing a broader restructuring process. A move elsewhere could offer him a chance to revive his career and establish himself as a regular starter.

With his contract approaching its end, interest in Nadir is expected to intensify in the coming months as several clubs monitor his availability closely.
