Gift Orban’s spectacular strike earns Turkish Super Lig Goal of the Month award

Nigeria forward Gift Orban has been named the Turkish Super Lig’s Goal of the Month winner for September after his stunning strike helped Amedspor beat Besiktas 3-2.

Orban opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a powerful long-range effort that flew beyond the goalkeeper to give Amedspor an early lead.

The award adds to an impressive start to the season for the 24-year-old, who joined Amedspor from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on a season-long loan in July.

Orban leads Super Lig scoring charts

Orban has quickly established himself as one of the standout forwards in Turkey, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in six league appearances under manager Besnik Hasi.

His goalscoring form has taken him to the top of the Super Lig scoring charts, where he is level with Trabzonspor forward Mohamed Salah.

The Nigeria international’s performances have also played a key role in Amedspor’s strong start to the campaign.

Amedspor currently lead the Super Lig table and will return to action on Saturday, 10 October.

Their next fixture will see them travel to face Genclerbirligi, with Orban expected to lead the attack as Amedspor look to maintain their position at the top of the league.
