Gift Orban continued his fine scoring form in the Bundesliga, netting his third league goal as Hoffenheim claimed a crucial 3-1 victory over Werder Bremen on Sunday.
The Nigerian forward, making his sixth Bundesliga appearance, found the net in the 63rd minute to extend Hoffenheim’s lead to 3-1.
His goal marked his third in the last four matches, further cementing his importance in the squad.
Orban was later substituted in the 76th minute after another strong performance.
His compatriot, Kevin Akpoguma, also featured in the match, coming off the bench in the 88th minute to make his 21st league appearance of the season.
The victory was a much-needed boost for Hoffenheim, who had suffered back-to-back defeats in their previous outings.
The three points lift them to 15th place in the Bundesliga standings, just above the relegation zone with 21 points.
With Orban finding form, Hoffenheim will look to build on this result as they continue their fight to climb further up the table.
