Gianni Infantino meets newly elected African FA Presidents in Morocco
RABAT, Sept 19, 2025 (Reuters) – FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Friday held talks in Rabat with newly elected leaders of African football federations, in a meeting aimed at deepening cooperation and supporting reforms across the continent.
The discussions took place at FIFA’s new Africa headquarters, located inside the Mohammed VI Football Complex.
The presidents in attendance included Francis Amin Michael Paul of South Sudan, Fabrice Shema Ngoga of Rwanda’s Ferwafa, and Abdoulaye Fall of the Senegalese Football Association.

According to FIFA officials, the talks focused on the priorities of the new federations’ leadership and the challenges facing their national programs, from grassroots structures to youth competitions and governance standards.
Infantino underlined FIFA’s commitment to provide technical and financial support through the Rabat hub, which opened in July and now serves as the main base for the organisation’s African operations.
“The Africa office is here to work directly with federations, listen to their needs, and help them deliver tangible results,” Infantino said.

Friday’s meeting highlighted the headquarters’ growing role as a platform for dialogue and collaboration.
FIFA officials say they plan to host more sessions in Rabat with national leaders as part of efforts to accelerate the continent’s football development agenda.
